Abstract

The maritime transportation sector faces complex security risks due to dynamic operational environments and evolving threats. This study aims to examine the role of innovation in improving risk management strategies within maritime security. Employing a qualitative descriptive method, the research investigates technological, procedural, and organizational innovations implemented in port operations and maritime logistics. The findings highlight that the adoption of smart surveillance systems, AI-based risk assessment tools, and collaborative frameworks among stakeholders significantly enhances risk detection and response capabilities. These innovations not only improve operational resilience but also contribute to regulatory compliance and international safety standards. The implications of this research emphasize the need for continued investment in innovation to address emerging risks and ensure sustainable maritime operations.
